Amber Liquor

Amber Liquer

Contemporary research has confirmed the healing properties of amber. Amber acid that it contains stimulates work of kidneys, intestines and the nervous system. Above all, however, amber has anti-inflammatory properties. Liqueur produced of Polish amber is a recognized medicine for rheumatism, asthma and diseases of the respiratory system.

Recipe: wash about 50 g of pieces of amber and put them into a crystal decanter, pour 250 g of 95% spirit on it, so that the spirit is at least 1–2 cm over the amber. The prepared liqueur should be put in a dark place. After two weeks the liqueur is ready. (The longer it stays in the container, the better its healing properties are.) It does not have to be strained nor poured with water. Amber does not dissolve well in spirit, but it exudes microscopic healing particles, coloring the spirit golden. When the liqueur has been finished, the pieces of amber can be crumbled and poured with spirit again.

It should be drunk to strengthen the organism overall. Adults: 30 drops with water twice or three times a day; children: half the dose for adults.

Influenzic states:

during the disease (with fever) rub the liqueur into the chest, the foot soles and the places under knees twice a day. You can prophylactically add some liqueur to a morning tea; adults: 20 drops, children: 10.

Headaches, migraine – rub the liqueur into the middle of the forehead, the lower parts behind ears, the temples and the wrists.

Diarrhea – drink half a glass of warm water with the liqueur: adults – 20 drops, children – 10.

Runny nose – rub the liqueur into the places under nostrils twice a day, inhaling deep with its smell. The liqueur should be drunk in fall and winter, when influenza is most likely to attack, as well as in case of inflammation of the urinary tracts and kidneys, the stomach and duodenal ulcers. The mixture can be rubbed into the back and the chest every day during pneumonia, bronchitis, fever or a cold. A few drops should be rubbed into the wrists, the temples, the neck and the middle of the feet, where the spot responsible for kidneys is. Rheumatic pains can be alleviated by rubbing it into the sick joints. Diluted liqueur can be also used as a rinse for a sore throat.
